It's a very transferable skill into the civilian world. 25B is more help desk stuff whereas a 25N does a lot more with networks and works a lot with Cisco equipment. I'd second the guy that said you should consider 25N. The Army has a website that is essentially job postings for deployments and 25 series guys are always needed. If deploying is something you DO want to do, it's possible to volunteer to deploy with another unit. I'd say a federal deployment is also unlikely anytime soon but anything could happen if something kicks off. In the event of a major natural disaster or something, you could potentially be activated and filling sand bags or something. As a Guardsman, you can be ordered into compulsory active duty status by both the Governor of your state as well as the President.
